New seats available in Earth Revealed spring general education course
The Geospatial Science Department opened 10 seats for the GEO 1600: Earth Revealed course, which carries the SE/SCI general education designation and is now available to all students regardless of year or major.
Earth Revealed examines spatial patterns to visualize the underlying processes at work in the atmosphere, biosphere, lithosphere, and hydrosphere. We will discuss natural and human influences on spatial and temporal patterns of the physical environment using visualization techniques and geospatial methods. Environmental issues and sustainability are an integral part of the class.
This course meets from 12:30 to 4 p.m. every Tuesday. The course is taught in a studio classroom, with lecture/discussion and computer-based analysis of satellite imagery.
